You may have to update the software to open the RAW files.

By default it takes from the central AF point. I would highly recommend you to go through the AF and the metering video tutorials in Basics & Advanced Fundamentals of photography tutorial.

    Dear Dr Niraj,

Depending on the metering mode used, you will have to over expose anything you shoot in snow as the camera will try to expose for 18% grey. WB depends on the lighting situation (early morning light or afternoon or evening light or overcast etc). Unfortunately there is nothing called as correct technical parameters as it purely depends on situation.

I would request that you go through the metering tutorials to get a better understanding on metering and light.

Yes, I keep it on the floor of the Gypsy or on the seat. That’s the best way to carry.

I am using DPP 4.9.20.0 on Mojave and is working fine. I think this is the DPP which was downloaded for Canon EOS R.

    Dear Prakash,

Difficult to answer without knowing budget, purpose. In the first place why you want to upgrade ?

    1. Difficult to comment without actually reading that part in the book to better understand the context. That said, 12% is on the darker side. The mid tone interpretation is the same for all camera models.

    2. Again it is difficult to comment without reading the original article as I need to understand the context of what they are mentioning. If there is a URL where this is mentioned, that would help for me to understand.

Rajan, it also helps for panning and hence there is a mode 2 to be used for that.

You should use it only when hand holding. IS1 is for static subjects and IS2 is for panning.
